Your leads aren't the problem

Your leads aren't the problem. What happens in the first hour after one arrives is. Every week a founder tells me they need more leads. We look at last month together and the same shape shows up every time. It's never a shortage of interest.

Every week a founder tells me they need more leads. We look at last month together and the same shape shows up every time. It's never a shortage of interest. It's a handful of moments where someone was still warm and nothing happened.
→ 47 people asked about pricing. 31 got a real reply within the hour. The other 16 heard back between "tomorrow" and "eventually."
→ Three of the warmest came in on a Sunday night. Nobody was watching the inbox.
→ One wrote "how much?" and got a PDF. Nobody has ever bought from a PDF. (The PDF was good, for what it's worth.)
→ The one who said "ping me after the holidays" got pinged in February.
→ A reply that felt easy on Tuesday felt like a chase by Thursday - because it was.
→ Speed isn't the point - no, wait, speed is part of it - it's whether the reply lands while the wanting is still lit. That's the whole thing.
→ None of this is dramatic. All of it is the revenue line.
So when a founder tells me they need more leads, here's what I'm actually wondering:
How many of the last twenty got a reply while they still cared?
