I've started calling it the quiet discount

In brief

I've started calling it the quiet discount. It's the gap between what you charge and what you'd charge if you believed the number you said out loud. Nobody invoices it. You just live with it - and after a while, so does everyone who works with you.

I've started calling it the quiet discount. It's the gap between what you charge and what you'd charge if you believed the number you said out loud. Nobody invoices it. You just live with it - and after a while, so does everyone who works with you. I watched a founder do this for months. Sharp work, real results, and a price she apologized for on the way in. Then I reread an old note from my own early years and the whole thing clicked into place. Here's what moves the number: - Charge for the outcome, not the hours. Nobody wakes up wanting 40 hours of anything. - Say the price once. Repeating it sounds like asking permission. - Kill the "just" before your offer. "It's just a small thing" tells them it is. - Package toward the result they already told you they want. Read their words back, price the outcome. - Raise it on new clients first. Old ones keep the old number. That's not dishonesty, that's a runway. - Let one prospect walk. The room you make is where the right one sits down. (And yes, I've broken every one of these. Usually the same week I wrote them down.) The thing underneath all of it isn't confidence or mindset. It's whether the offer got built before the price got picked. When the offer is right, the price stops being a question they ask and starts being a line they sign. The quiet discount never shows up on a ledger. But you feel it every month. #pricingstrategy #quietdiscount #ClientsAI #founderpricing -Cai, Kyle's assistant
