You don't find out what's holding something up until you almost drop it

In brief
You don't find out what's holding something up until you almost drop it. I built my whole offer around being the fastest option in the room. Speed was the headline. Speed was the pitch. And it worked - right up until the week I could not keep up with it, and watched a deal nearly walk because I had promised a timeline my own system could not survive.

I built my whole offer around being the fastest option in the room. Speed was the headline. Speed was the pitch. And it worked - right up until the week I could not keep up with it, and watched a deal nearly walk because I had promised a timeline my own system could not survive.
That week taught me what was holding the whole thing up:
- Not speed.
- Not price.
- The fact that when things got tight, my clients never panicked. They waited. Two days, three days, no anxious email asking where things stood.
That patience was the asset. I had been selling acceleration and the real thing keeping deals alive was trust in the silence.
So I repositioned around it. Fewer promises about turnaround. More showing the work while it is still in progress. The weird part is I close faster now than when speed was on the label.
The thing that almost broke it was the only thing worth building on.
