The one number I couldn't shake was 41%

In brief
The one number I couldn't shake was 41%. Same offer, same price, same kind of founder sitting across the table - the close rate split almost straight down the middle depending on where in the call the price got named.

I pulled it out of a slower crawl through about 60 pricing conversations from this year. Not a study. Just the recordings I kept coming back to.
The ones who named the price after the outcome story closed nearly twice as often as the ones who opened with it.
And here's the part that still sits with me - it wasn't a positioning problem. Same words. Same deck. Same everything on paper.
It was timing inside the room.
And the wild part is nobody ever goes back to change the timing. They go back and change the offer. The deck gets lighter. The price gets softer. The guarantee gets bigger.
The offer wasn't dead. The price wasn't wrong. It just arrived one beat too early, before the founder on the other side had anything to hang it on yet.
I watch people rebuild their entire positioning around this. New decks, new frameworks, new "value ladders." And the whole time, the thing that's off is when the number shows up.
Positioning is where the offer lives on paper. Timing is where it lands in the room.
One of them needs a rebuild. The other one just needs a three-second pause before you say the number out loud
