A founder walked me through her numbers last week

In brief
A founder walked me through her numbers last week. $22k into Meta, 61 leads in, three calls on the calendar. I asked what happened to the other 58. Long pause. Which told me everything. Nobody had followed up. Here's the thing - the ads weren't the problem.

Here's the thing - the ads weren't the problem. They never are. The ads did their job, which was getting a stranger to stop scrolling and raise their hand. What happened after the hand went up is where the money actually walked out.
Five places I keep seeing the same leak:
→ response time measured in hours, not minutes (whoever answers first usually wins)
→ two touches and a shrug (the third or fourth is often the yes)
→ the same template for a warm lead and a cold one
→ no clear next step in the reply, just "let me know if you want to chat"
→ nobody owns the follow-through, so nothing follows through
None of these are expensive. Most fix themselves inside a week once someone is actually watching the inbox.
The part that keeps bumping into me though is that most founders don't lose because their marketing is weak. They lose because they built a machine that spends, and stopped building the one that catches.
